1. What are Issues and how are they selected?

A topic or incident, which is of national or regional importance is identified as an Issue and is featured on the site.

2. Should I be a registered member to view Issues?
No, you need not be a registered member to view the issues featured on the site. However, you need to be a registered member to vote on and view the voting results of Issues.

3. How do I vote on an Issue?
Select an option from the list of options provided for each Issue and click on the vote button to cast your vote.

4. What is the impact of my vote?
Your vote in favour of or against an Issue along with the votes cast by other users will help in forming a public opinion on the particular Issue. All the votes are sent to the elected representatives concerned. This in turn helps the persons concerned know the stand of the citizens on an Issue and act accordingly.

5. Can I send my comments on an Issue to the people concerned?
Yes, you can. Your comments on the Issues will be sent to the elected representatives concerned after approval by the site editor.

6. How do I view the voting patterns of other users?
Click the View Results link in the respective issue page to view the voting results of all users.
You can also view the voting results by clicking on the respective Issue Title link in the active issues page

7. How do I view the comments of other users?
Each issue page will have a maximum of two comments displayed at a time.
If the comments on the issue are more than two, click the More link displayed next to the comments to view the rest of the comments.

8. How do I view state specific Issues?
You need to log in to view state specific issues. After logging in click on the State Issues link to view the state specific Issues.

9. What are Inactive Issues?
Issues of hot concern would become redundant after a period of time. Indiademocracy.com reviews relevance of issues from time to time and makes the issues that are not in focus, inactive.

10. Can I vote on Inactive Issues?
No, you cannot vote on inactive issues but can view the voting pattern of the users on these issues.

11. How can I view past Issues?
You can access our archives section and view past and inactive issues.

1. Should I be a registered member to view my Elected Officials?

No. But to communicate with them you need to be a registered member.

2. Can I post queries to my elected officials?
Yes, you can post your queries. When the legislator logs in he/she will get back to you. You can even post queries to the elected officials who are not representing your constituency.

3. Can I view the personal details of my elected officials?
Yes, you can view their personal details. Click on the respective official to view his personal profile and his home page.

4. Is there any facility to search for elected officials?
Yes, you can search for elected officials by clicking on the Search MP and Search MLA links in the section home page.

5. Is there any facility to search for a Government Ministry?
Yes, you can search for both central and state ministries by using the Search Ministry facility. Click on the Search Ministry link in the section home page to access this facility

1. What are Indiademocracy.com's discussion board rules?

Issues on Indiademocracy.com are of serious nature. We request all the users to contribute seriously to strengthen our democracy. We expect users to respect each other and not to include any objectionable content. Such content would be removed. Under extreme conditions we have also blocked the member.

2. Why do I need to sign in?

You need not sign in to read forums or messages, but to reply to the messages or to post your own forums, you need to be a registered member and signed in. Registration is free.

3. Can we request for new Forums?
Definitely, please e-mail us and let us know what's on your mind. If it suits the theme of the website and interests the members we will definitely create a new forum. Many of our boards are based upon member requests. YOUR input counts!

4. Is there a certain code of conduct that I should know about?
Indiademocracy.com is no different from other sites. The rules developed and accepted by most Internet users are applicable even for Indiademocracy.com. For your convenience the do and don’t of the Internet are listed below.

  • Avoid capital letters in communication and on discussion board posts. This is considered shouting.
  • Sometimes the excessive use of Internet abbreviations can come across as offensive.
  • Keep your messages manageable and to the point. People are less likely to read your post and respond if it drags on and gets off message.
  • Always re-read messages before hitting "Post" to check for grammatical and spelling errors.

5. Can I edit my posts?
You can edit your own post anytime. Just click on the "edit" link. You have to enter your login and password if you have not logged in before and thereby edit your post. No one else can edit your post.

6. What are Posts/Replies?
Posts are the Forums posted on a particular Forum. And Replies are the messages posted on a posted on a particular forum. Any registered user can take the advantage of posting both Posts and Replies. If a particular user has posted a Post then that will become a Forum and all the registered users can reply to that Forum.

7. How do I post a new forum?
To post a new Forum click on the Post New Forum link. This will go to a Post New forum form, which will be having two fields. Enter the Forum title and Forum description respectively and click submit. Your Forum will be created in that particular forum.

8. How do I post a reply?
To post a reply click on the reply hyperlink. This will lead to the Reply form where you will be entering the message title and message description respectively. Click on save and your message is posted successfully. You can reply to a reply also and the same thing applies to it also.

10. How do I create bold, italics and underlining in my messages?
The messaging system allows a limited number of html tags to help you format and customize your messages. You can use the following tags <B>Bold</B> <I>Italic</I> <U>Underline</U>.

11. How do I create a link within the text of my message?
To create a link, simply type the entire URL into your message, including "http://" and the messaging system will format the URL as a link.

12. Can I search for a particular Forum or Message/What is the search facility?
You may search for specific Forums or Messages based on a word or words found in the Forums/Messages title or description. Just click on the "search" link that is found on every page.

13. Who are active users?
Active users are the users who are presently logged in and viewing forums different pages.

  • Click on the 'Browse' button.
  • Select the photo you would like to add from your folder.
