Days after her father and NCP leader Purno A. Sangma apologised to Congress president Sonia Gandhi for raising the issue of her foreign origin, Agatha Sangma, the youngest minister in the UPA government, says the controversy was "an issue of the past.

"This is an issue of the past. We are working together in the UPA government. One must move on," Agatha Sangma, 28, told reporters while replying to a question related to the controversy over Gandhi's foreign nationality.
